The short answer is no.
Although AC electric, DC electric and non-electric systems are very similar, they are not the same.
Therefore, electric model cannot function for long periods as a non-electric system and perform normally.
The main reason is that an electric model has two fans. When these fans are left off (not spinning), they create an impedence (blackage) in the vent system.
Also, depending on model, an AC electric model may not have a drain connected or a wind turbine on the vent stack -- both essential components of non-electric systems.
The bottom line is that any system can operate without power for short periods of time, but it is not recommended to try and run an electric model as a non-electric model for longer periods.
